Meet Your Instructor

I'm Todd Graham and I've been where you are.

I started out with just a couple of modules and a head full of ideas — but every patch ended the same way: a cool sound that never grew into more than a few minutes. I knew there was a gap in my understanding, but no tutorial or course ever seemed to bridge it.

Fast forward to today: I’ve performed live modular sets in both the USA and the UK, studied film composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and over the past 7 years, learned how to take a simple idea or groove and expand it into performances lasting anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours.

And here’s the #1 thing I discovered: you don’t need a wall of gear, endless tutorials, or a degree in music to make complete music with modular. What you do need is a system — a repeatable process for structure, movement, and flow.

But I know you don’t care about my journey — what you care about is whether this will actually help you. The answer is yes. All you need is a clear, step-by-step system — the same one that took me thousands of hours to develop, and that myself and my students have already used successfully. And because I wanted to give something back — to pay forward what I learned from the greats I studied and worked with, so I created the 10-Day Modular Musician.

In just 10 days, you’ll learn how to turn patches and ideas into complete jams using the exact system I’ve relied on for years. You’ll also get practice exercises, daily challenges, and feedback from a private community to keep you moving forward.

If you’re ready to stop noodling, break free from undeveloped ideas, and finally build structured jams and full performances, this course is for you.

Who Is This Course For?

  • You want to learn how to turn ideas into full, structured jams— not just noodling.

  • You value a clear, step-by-step system that shows you how to practice, structure, and perform — instead of endless tutorials that only explain what individual modules do.

  • You’re a modular synth player who’s ever thought:

    • “This patch sounds cool… but now what?”

    • “How do I arrange a full track or performance?”

    • “How do I stop noodling and start making music with flow?”

What Categories Do We Focus On?

  • Beginners to 2 Years of Modular Experience — players who own the gear but feel stuck noodling, and want to start creating full, structured jams.

  • Musicians Expanding Into Modular — guitarists, pianists, or producers ready to translate their musical ideas into modular jams/tunes.

  • Electronic Musicians — artists working with hardware or software synths who want to apply modular-style thinking to expand their sound and arrangements.

  • Content Creators — people who want to share modular jams on YouTube, TikTok, or live streams, but need their sets to feel structured and engaging.

  • Live Performers — artists who want to take their modular setups out of the bedroom and onto a stage with confidence.

  • Music Hobbyists — anyone who loves patching and sound design but wants to finally make music that feels complete.

Who Is This Course NOT For?

  • If you just want quick tips or module walkthroughs — this isn’t it. YouTube is full of those, and this course is about putting it all together.

  • If you’re looking for a shortcut or “magic patch” — this course takes practice and commitment. The system works, but only if you actually use it.

  • If you’re happy noodling endlessly without ever finishing anything — this probably isn’t for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What skill level is this program for?

Anyone who hasn’t yet put the pieces together to create longer, structured jams and performances. If you can patch sounds but struggle to turn them into full pieces, this is for you..

How long do I have access to the program & when does it start?

You’ll have lifetime access to the 10-Day Modular Musician, including all lessons, bonus modules, and the private community. The course officially launches on December 1, 2025, but if you join during the pre-launch, you’ll get early access as modules are uploaded before the full release.

Can't I learn all of this on Youtube?

Maybe, but here's the main problem: YouTube tutorials are usually focused on modules in isolation. They’ll show you what a filter or sequencer does, but they don’t teach you how to put everything together into a structured jam or performance.

The 10-Day Modular Musician gives you a step-by-step system — building block by building block — so you’re not left guessing how to connect the dots. Plus, you’ll get practice exercises, daily challenges, and feedback from a private community. That’s something you won’t get from scattered free videos..

Do I need a modular rig to start?

No. You can use the free version of VCV Rack (or any other software modular) to follow along. Everything you learn applies equally to hardware and software modular systems.

Do I need a laptop or computer?
Yes — if you’re using software modular, or if you want to record your jams in a DAW.

Can I use my smartphone or iPad or tablet?

Yes - you can watch the tutorials on your phone or tablet, use your phone, iPad or tablet to record your daily assignments and challenges, BUT VCV Rack will not work on smart phones, tablets and iPads

Do I need any deep knowledge of modular?

No — we’ll cover the key fundamentals like modulation, accents, and groove-building, but always in the context of using them to create structured jams and performances (not just isolated techniques).

Do I need any music theory?
No — you don’t need prior theory knowledge. The appendix of the 10-Day Modular Musician includes simple, easy-to-understand music theory explained specifically with modular in mind, so you can apply it right away.

Should I invest in 10 Day Modular Musician buying more gear?

Yes - Most modular players think the next module will unlock their music — but without a system for structure and performance, new gear just leads to more noodling. This course shows you how to make full, cohesive jams with the modules you already own. Once you have that foundation, any new gear you add will have a clear purpose in your music.
